Santa Barbara Art Association
The Santa Barbara Art Association is our sponsoring organization.
The Santa Barbara Art Association, a nonprofit organization of about five hundred artists, was founded in 1952. Membership into the Santa Barbara Art Association is by jury, with information available at HYPERLINK “http://www.sbartassoc.org”
Activities include art exhibitions by the membership, educational artist workshops, field trips to art galleries and museums, and community philanthropic activities.
Among the philanthropic activities are the Ludington-Parshall scholarships for art students attending Santa Barbara City College, Westmont University, and University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Student Art Fund, addressing needs of art students in area junior highs and high schools.
The Student Art Fund is supported both by the Santa Barbara Art Association and by other patrons concerned with creating opportunities for young artists in the Tri-Cities area of Carpinteria, Goleta and Santa Barbara.
