Clayton Brand, San Marcos High School Mr. Irwin, sponsoring teacher Newspaper-Print Slab Vase, This is the first full-sized slab vase in which I utilized the newspaper-print aesthetic. This vase is thick, but tapers slightly thinner near the top. Around the top is a slab of a veiny or Earthy-looking clay, colored in a brick red. The pulled handle is gold, with two small silver “screws” affixing it to the vase. Underneath the handle, there is a power outlet. I had a lot of fun with this piece. I combined a classical gold pulled handle on a slab vase with pop images such as screws, newspaper, and a power outlet. .Juror
