Fabrice Tay, a twelve year old 8th grader in Mr. Houchin’s class at Santa Barbara Junior High School, drew a portrait of his grandpa in charcoal. He looked through some photos and chose one where he looked “nice and young and handsome.” His grandfather lives with the family. He sings in the church choir and loves music. Fabrice’s family came to Santa Barbara from Togo in West Africa when he was one year old. Fabrice loves art and has been influenced by his family’s friendship with Santa Barbara artist Marcia Burtt .
