Mallory Meyer

Mallory Meyer went through family photos with her father and chose one of her Great Uncle Mark Howard.  “All of my grandparents and uncles died before I was born, so I chose this one because I liked the strong values and shadows.  He’s sitting at a kitchen table that we still have.  He had just enlisted in the service for World War II. My dad told me that Uncle Mark was the jokester of the three brothers.” Mallory, a student in Diana Hemsley’s Drawing class at Dos Pueblos High School, also enjoys engineering.  “I made it like a mechanical drawing with sharp detailed lines.” Just after she began working on the drawing, Mallory met a new cousin in her family.  “His name is also Mark Howard and he was named after the uncle in my drawing.”
