Renee Krieger

Renee Krieger remembers her grandfather who died when she was seven. “He was always laughing and he had big hands and a funny squeaker on his cane.” Renee when through photos with her father and chose a smiling portrait of her grandfather as a young man in his 30’s.  A student in Diana Hemsley’s  Dos Pueblos art class, Renee chose to paint her father’s hand holding the photograph. “I made a grid of the picture to help me get the proportions right. My dad really likes it.  He says it looks just like my grandpa.”
