Shannon Cleary

Shannon Cleary, A Dos Pueblos student in Kevin Gleason’s class, wrote this note on the back of her graphite portrait of a young soldier: ‘Dear Pops, As you may see I have chosen to draw a portrait of you.  I was supposed to choose a person I care for and admire.  That person was you.  You risked your life and well-being to fight for a country you deeply love.  I admire your love for your family and the world.  Thank you.  I love and miss you.”
