Tiffany Meier

Tiffany Meier 49 Tiffany Meier, a freshman in Kevin Gleason’s Free Hand Drawing class at Dos Pueblos High School, never met her grandfather.  She met her grandmother once when she went to Taiwan with her mother to her grandfather’s funeral.  Tiffany’s portrait of her grandparents comes from their wedding photo.  On the back of her colored pencil and graphite drawing Tiffany wrote, “In choosing which photo to draw from, I learned a lot about my grandfather.  I did not know that he was a judo champion, nor that he had won second place in Men’s Rapid Fire Pistol of the National Shooting Competition in Taiwan, and he almost got to represent the country for the Olympic Games! . . . I really wish I could have met my grandfather.  Life contains grief, and this is one of mine.  I am sure he could have taught me a lot.  I believe he still is teaching me!”
