School: Dos Pueblos High School

Artist Statement: Lilies in the Wind. I rolled Speckled Buff Clay with the slab roller to create a smooth surface to incise my Lilies. I cut and softened the edges to make the edges look nicely finished, then incised my lilies and leaves.  After the plaque was bisque fired,  I chose an underglaze color palette and started with the black, applying and then wiping all but the lines off. I blended some yellow and green for top of stems, white for lilies, green for leaves. The entire plaque was fired again and I gave it to my mom! 8 1/2″ x 10″
