2020 Online Student Art Show Awards
The 2020 Online Student Art Show, hosted by the Student Art Fund of the Santa Barbara Art Association, is honored to present Awards of Excellence to the following artists in the categories of digital art, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture/3-D artwork. The show coincided with schools closing because of the Coronavirus. The Student Art Fund is very pleased that we were able to offer an opportunity to Art Teachers and students whose usual end-of-the-year school art exhibits were cancelled. The show was juried by John Houchin.
“This body of work submitted for consideration during this difficult time is very impressive! As I have taught all of the subjects shown (except ceramics), I have hands-on understanding of all of these media and the skill required to produce compelling work. It was my goal to discover the powerful images that could eventually become part of a college entrance portfolio. I applaud all of the students who participated in this gallery presentation, and thank their teachers for inspiring such compelling work. Congratulations to all!”
